Oak Bluffs Economic Development Council appoints Stallings to Island Theater workgroup. The council unanimously appointed Larkin Stallings as its representative to the Island Theater Purpose Workgroup, which will meet biweekly through December with participation from wastewater officials. The council also approved developing a welcome packet for new business owners to address startup challenges and reported ongoing work with OpenGov on automating business licensing.
In other action, the council decided to order seven fireworks banners and seven general welcome banners at $134 each ($938 total) for presentation to the Select Board on August 25, and rejected a proposed ice rink project citing $80,000 to $160,000 costs in favor of pursuing park Christmas light upgrades.
