Oak Bluffs Economic Development Council voted unanimously to appoint Mark Leonard, Bob Melecki, and Larkin Stallings to evaluate four RFP responses for the economic development plan. The council deferred the draft EDC bylaw from the December Special Town Meeting warrant to allow time for consultant recommendations regarding organizational structure. The council is planning welcome activities for cruise ship arrivals on October 15 and 18, with member Amelie Loyot creating promotional materials for downtown businesses, and is developing Christmas and Halloween events including Circuit Avenue holiday decorations and a potential relocation of the trunk-or-treat event to Ocean Park.
The council also discussed proposed building moratorium dates and reached consensus on supporting street performer regulations with modifications including a 90-minute performance limit and audition process for prime locations.
