OAK BLUFFS — Finance Committee recommends $1.9M override for fiscal 2027 deficit. The committee voted unanimously on the $1.9 million recommendation to address a fiscal 2027 shortfall of $1,805,906.11, which includes pending reductions from the Cape Cod Municipal Health Group for elementary and regional schools. In a 6-1 vote, the committee retained a $160,000 School Resource Officer position for the town elementary school; Christine Todd opposed, citing the substantial budget gap.
Committee members said the SRO would support an override campaign and demonstrate commitment to school safety. Town Administrator Deborah Potter announced her resignation effective April 8, 2026.
