OAK BLUFFS — The Finance and Advisory Committee voted 7-1 to trim its membership from nine to seven. The change takes effect in 2027 after Attorney General approval. The bylaw reduction will go to the 2026 Annual Town Meeting.
Mike Taus cast the sole dissent, despite seconding the motion. Committee members cited quorum problems since 2020 and difficulty recruiting candidates; a Department of Local Services review recommended reducing to seven or five for towns this size.
