OAK BLUFFS — Historic Commission reviews Oakwood Mixed Use design. At the Martha's Vineyard Commission's request, the Historic Commission reviewed an updated architectural proposal for the Oakwood Mixed Use building to replace the Phillips' Hardware site. Designer Scott Estacio presented the updated two-tower design featuring ground-level commercial space, which a majority of members preferred over a previous plan.
The commission unanimously requested removal of shutters and offered suggestions to modify third-floor windows, remove decorative roof cresting, and simplify decorative second-story railings.
