Oak Bluffs Economic Development Council reviews strategic plan for shoulder-season expansion. The council reviewed a request for proposal outlining six project goals—expanding shoulder seasons, supporting year-round commerce, attracting visitors, improving retention and growth, strengthening workforce stability, and building a five-year roadmap. The group defined shoulder seasons as April-May and October-December and agreed to include winter strategy.
Chair Mark Leonard will oversee RFP updates to incorporate the Rapid Recovery Plan and Master Plan, adjust the proposal timeline to 30 days, add town as a funding option, and request contractor recommendations for organizational structure. Larkin Stallings continues research into ice rink feasibility, with purchase costs estimated between $87,000 and $155,000.
