Oak Bluffs Planning Board advances six zoning by-law changes. Member Chris Chambers presented proposals addressing recurring disputes over structures, equipment, vessels, and commercial vehicles; all four members present voted unanimously 4-0 to send six articles to the Select Board for potential November Special Town Meeting inclusion. Changes include simplified definitions for structures and building heights, new equipment setback standards, commercial vehicle restrictions limiting one vehicle per premises in multi-unit zones over 130,000 square feet, and tiered vessel storage limits ranging from one boat in R1 zones to three in R4 zones by special permit.
The board rejected a proposed reduction of setbacks from 50 feet to 30 feet in R3 and R4 zones.
