OAK BLUFFS — Planning Board holds public hearing on six zoning proposals. Oak Bluffs Planning Board Vice Chair Chris Chambers led discussion of proposed amendments to zoning bylaws governing short-term rentals, environmental performance standards, erosion control, site plan review, accessory uses, and agricultural use oversight. The board approved its January 22 minutes 5-0 but deferred voting on the zoning proposals pending public input.

Select Board Member Mark Leonard presented a proposed large event by-law requiring permits 45 days in advance, capping events to one per month, and implementing noise and septic restrictions. Public comment raised concerns about enforcement capacity, non-profit exemption loopholes, and parking solutions. The board also received a Capital Improvement Committee update reporting over 6 million dollars in requests.
