Oak Bluffs Wastewater Commission approves $8,760 sewer abatement. Commissioners Gail Barmakian and Cassandra Bowler voted unanimously to reduce the FY26 annual sewer bill for Martha's Vineyard Bank at 14 Oak Bluffs Avenue to $600 after an underground pipe leak inflated usage by 424,000 gallons. The leak occurred in November or December 2024 beneath the property's slab foundation and was substantiated by water district confirmation and photos.
Two change-of-use applications were reviewed but continued: applicant Judith Morse at 74 Clinton Avenue was invited to reapply in Fall 2026 when system expansion is expected to be operational, while Chris Priore was requested to revise basement plans at 48 Tuckernuck Avenue by removing the shower and dividing wall. The commission announced biweekly meetings starting the 2nd and 4th Wednesday to address the application backlog.
