Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of May 20, 2026

OAK BLUFFS — Zoning board approves detached bedroom addition on Peter Williamson property. The Oak Bluffs Zoning Board of Appeals voted 5-0 to grant a special permit allowing Vineyardville, LLC to construct a 400-square-foot detached bedroom at 11 Peter M. Williamson Boulevard on a property zoned for up to six bedrooms.

Applicant representatives George Sourati and architect David Johnson presented the single-story structure with one bedroom, one bathroom, and an unfinished basement for storage. Abutters Paul Bordonaro and Curtis Brill raised concerns about basement conversion, drainage, noise, and potential rental use, but the board confirmed the proposal meets all zoning requirements and does not qualify as an accessory dwelling unit. The board also voted 5-0 to continue the Bradley Appeal to June 17, 2026.
